Bridges to the Baccalaureate Program

12-15 Mesa College students participate in a UCSD eight-week summer training program and most perform research in mentors’ labs at UCSD in the biomedical and behavioral sciences during the school year.

CSP - Cancer Center Creating Scientists to Address Cancer Disparities

15-18 local community college students planning to transfer to UCSD receive 8 summer weeks of laboratory and classroom training in the biomedical and behavioral sciences. After the didactic training, they participate in UCSD research mentors’ laboratories during the school year.

CURE - UCSD Cancer Center Continuing Umbrella of Research Experiences

8-10 UCSD freshmen, sophomores, and community college transfer students from underserved populations receive 8 weeks of summer laboratory and classroom training in the biomedical and behavioral sciences followed by participation in UCSD cancer research mentors’ laboratories during the school year. To date, 131 students have been trained through the CURE program.

ET-CURE - Emerging Technology in Continuing Umbrella of Research of Experiences

The ET-CURE, in collaboration with the Martinez U54, supports three UCSD undergraduate junior and senior URM researchers during the summer and the academic year to perform research at the cancer center.
